Bonus Content: Honorable Mention Picks for Best Moments in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)

In Episode 10 of Top 5 for Fighting, Greg and Mike along with special guest and Marvel expert Richard Alexander got into a robust discussion of Avengers: Endgame – including a contentious (and hilarious debate) over the use of time travel in the movie. (Told you: spoilers.)

As always, the episode concluded with all three sharing their Top 5 moments in the MCU. But since Phases 1-3 include 22 movies, the guys simply could not stop at five apiece. So we’re dishing out the bonus content with Mike, Greg, and Richard’s picks for honorable mentions. (Spoiler: There is a pattern of elevators, and hammers.)

Mike’s Honorable Mentions:

  1. Thor (2011) – Thor’s sacrifice makes him worthy again, and Mjoinir returns to him.

  2. Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)  --  Abraham Erskine asks Steve Rogers if he wants to become a soldier to kill Nazis and Steve responds, "I don't want to kill anybody. I don't like bullies; I don't care where they are from."

  3. Avengers: Infinity War (2018) -- Tony “knights” Peter as an Avenger after they both sneak aboard Ebony Maw’s ship.

  4. Captain America: The First Avenger (2011): Steve promising to dance with Peggy before crashing into the ice

Greg’s Honorable Mentions:

  1. Avengers: Infinity War (2018) --  The first appearance of the Iron Spider suit.

  2. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) – Thor, Captain America, and Tony Stark debate the logic of Mjolnir's ability to determine worthiness: “(The) Elevator is not worthy.”

  3. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. II (2017) – After Rocket Racoon says something sarcastic, and Mantis says,  "That crabby puppy is so cute it makes me wanna die!"

  4. Avengers: Endgame (2019) -  After the reinforcements arrive, Captain American utters for the first time, "Avengers... Assemble."

Richard’s Honorable Mentions:

  1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) - THE elevator scene. Enough said.

  2. The Avengers (2012) -- The 360 degree camera pan when we see, for the first time, all the Avengers assemble, back to back, ready to fight the Battle of New York.
